Same old ponytails? No thanks! Instead, celebs are pumping va-va-volume into the #basic style by wrapping them high up at the crown! “It gives a shot of fun, flirty edge to a more classic look,” says hairstylist Takisha Sturdivant-drew, who created Kerry Washington’s ’do, at left. “And wrapping a thick section of hair around the base gives the look a sweet, sultry vibe.” Sturdivant-drew opted for a wavy half-up style to keep the Scandal star’s angelic tail from skewing too over-the-top. She simply parted the hair from ear to ear, brushed it up and gathered in into an elastic. Then she took a 3-inch section of hair from the tail, wrapped it around the base and pinned in place.
