MEL B BREAKS DOWN OVER HER GRUELING DEPOSITION
Melanie “Mel B” Brown’s ugly divorce keeps getting uglier. The America’s Got Talent judge and former Spice Girl underwent a grueling deposition in her bitter divorce battle with Stephen Belafonte in October, and “there were numerous times when Mel broke down crying and needed to take breaks to compose herself,” reveals an insider. During the deposition, for which Stephen wasn’t present, his lawyers played a number of the estranged couple’s sex tapes. “Having to watch those tapes in a room full of people,” the insider says, “was humiliating and demoralizing.” After nearly 10 years of marriage, Mel, 42, filed for divorce from Stephen, also 42, on March 20, and their split has been marked by allegations including drug use, cheating and abuse. “Stephen’s lawyers,” the insider says, “were relentless.”
