JEN’S FRIENDS ARE TRYING TO SET HER UP WITH A MILLIONAIRE!

-

Now that Justin is out of the picture, Jen’s longtime girlfriends (including, from left, Jennifer Meyer, Courteney Cox and Laura Dern) are on a mission to set her up with a good guy. And if he happens to be wealthy? Even better. At entertainment mogul David Geffen’s 75th birthday bash on Feb. 24, “Jen [Meyer] and Court were pointing out the available millionaires in the rich and powerful crowd,” an insider tells Life & Style. “Jen was giggling the whole time.” Still, the $220 million woman isn’t completely sold on her gal pals’ plan. “Jen isn’t looking for a new man just yet,” admits the insider. “But that’s not stopping her always-supportive friends from trying to set her up with someone suitable — and preferably not an actor.”

be many times when Jen would drive to Courteney Cox’s house in tears because Justin was ‘ being a nightmare,’” a source tells Life & Style. “Courteney has always been there for her BFF and advised her on how to deal with Justin’s behavior, but nothing Jen did seemed to work.”

The way Jen sees it, Justin simply refused to change. She often felt jealous about how cozy he got with other women, but his behavior continued even after she told him how she felt. Though his relationships with actresses like Naomi Watts, 49, Sofia Boutella, 35, and his The Leftovers co-stars Margaret Qualley, 23, Liv Tyler, 40, and Carrie Coon, 37, were platonic, “Justin is a classic ladies’ man and flirt, and it always drove Jen up the wall,” says the friend. Her worst fear? That he was interested in

some of her own pals. “One of the worst moments for Jen was when she started seeing Justin flirt with her friends,” says an insider. “Women are very drawn to Justin. All her celeb friends were charmed by him at one point or another.”

Selena certainly wasn’t immune. Although she’s raved about her friendship with Jen, Selena found herself “nervous and blushing” after an encounter with Justin at a Golden Globes afterparty a couple of years ago, says the insider. “He was giving his undivided attention to Selena,

complimenting her music and telling her she looked great. Justin has an intense way of looking at you that makes you feel special and a little weak in the knees. It was awkward for everyone, except Justin, and really hurt Jen.”

Jen’s insecurity can be forgiven. After all, ex-husband Brad, 54, famously fell for his Mr. & Mrs. Smith co-star Angelina Jolie, 42, while he was still married to the Friends alum. But Justin wasn’t exactly understanding. “When they argued about Jen’s trust issues,” notes the source.

“Justin rapidly lost patience, which resulted in her feeling even worse.”

NEVER TOGETHER

Most of the time, Justin wasn’t even around to argue with. While Jen briefly tried moving to his beloved NYC in 2011, she was miserable there, calling the city a “fishbowl.” They agreed to make LA their home, but despite renovating a $21 million Bel Air mansion together, Justin wasn’t happy — and spent as little time there as possible. “He hated her boring life and friends in LA,” says a second insider. “They shared harsh words about those feelings over the years. He just wasn’t into her idea of a fun night, which usually consisted of a barbecue or taco bar with her celebrity pals, followed by game night.” It was all a little tame for Justin’s taste. “Justin’s the kind

of guy who’ll strip off his shirt at a party or push back a crowd to create a mosh pit,” notes the friend. “She’s into throwing elegant theme parties while he’s happiest at a sweaty, highdecibel bash.”

During their three-year engagement, the cracks were already showing. “They had been a prime example of opposites attracting, but it didn’t take long for their different personalities and relationship expectations to clash,” says the source. “They’d fight for weeks at a time!”

TAKING A STAND

The solution was to try a long- distance marriage. But Jen has told friends Justin’s heart wasn’t in it. “She complained he never said ‘ I love you,’” says the friend. Even worse, “there would often be times when Justin promised he’d come to LA and then canceled at the last minute,” notes the source. “His excuses made Jen question what he was up to. In her eyes, she was putting in all the effort and getting nothing back. Jen would tell pals that she felt more alone being married to Justin than she did being single.”

At one point, she took drastic measures to try to change things. After Justin had spent weeks living it up in Berlin (and spending quality time with The Mummy stunner Sofia) while filming the Netflix movie Mute in 2016, Jen decided to surprise her husband by flying halfway around the world to see him. They had a long talk during that trip about recommitting to their mar- riage, the friend says. They even discussed having kids, but that only led to more battles. “Late last year, they were having nonstop fights over having a baby,” the friend says. “They waffled so many times.” And through it all, Justin continued acting like a single guy. “It was Justin’s MO to disappear for weeks, sometimes months,” says the friend, “with just brief, random visits in LA or NYC.”

Jen was lonely and upset. But now she’s trying to put it all behind her as quickly as possible. “The divorce will be handled privately by attorneys,” says the friend. “Jen’s hoping all will be said and done on the divorce by late spring or early summer.”

In the couple’s official split announcement on Feb. 15, one day after Life & Style broke the news, Jen and Justin insisted they were “two best friends who have decided to part ways as a couple, but look forward to continuing our cherished friendship.” But Jen’s not feeling friendly toward her ex right now. “Jen feels happy to be rid of Justin and wants some time and distance from him,” says the friend. “She’s still hurting.”

The pair have spoken, though. “It was about one of the few things they do have in common: their love of their pet dogs,” the friend says of the four pups Jen and Justin shared. “And the convo was basically just Justin checking on how the dogs were doing more than on Jen, which is fine. Jen’s moving on with her life. One thing is certain: She’s done being put through hell by Justin.”
