At age 53, Sandra Bullock joyfully faces pregnancy for the first time

The gesture came naturally. Sandra Bullock placed a loving hand on her baby bump as she waited between takes on the LA set of her new movie Bird Box. The pregnancy was all part of the role for the actress in January (see box, below). But life has a funny way of imitating art.
At 53, Sandra was more than content with what she calls her “nutty and loving” family. But the star, her photographer beau Bryan Randall and kids Louis and Laila could be welcoming another child into their mix soon! “It looks like a miracle baby is on the way for Sandra,” an insider exclusively tells Life & Style. “Sandra never planned to get pregnant, but there are signs she’s expecting. She’s put on a little weight and she’s been lying low and eating better than ever. It’s the best surprise. She’s so happy!”
GROWING TOGETHER
Sandra already knows all about being a mom. She adopted infant son Louis in 2010 before announcing in 2015 that 3-year-old Laila had joined the family. And Bryan — who has an adult daughter, Skylar, from a previous relationship — has seamlessly fallen into the role of father figure over the past three years. “They raise Louis and Laila together,” says a source. “It’s as if they’re his own.”
When it came time to tell the kids the exciting baby news, Sandra did it on her own, though. “She broke it to Louis and Laila very casually,” the insider says. “She sat them down and asked how they would feel about getting a baby brother or sister. They both squealed with glee, and as expected, Louis wants a baby brother and Laila said she wants a little sister. Sandra was overjoyed. She can’t believe how lucky she is.”
Sandra’s rep denies they’re having a baby — but keeping a secret is one of the actress’ specialties. Louis had been under her roof for four months before she announced she’d adopted, and she’d secretly played foster parent to Laila for months before officially adopting the child. “You feel it’s very much like witness protection,” Sandra has said, adding, “I had promised and legally agreed to protect her” from exposure during the fostering process.
She’s also kept quiet about her marital status. Bryan sparked speculation that the two had tied the knot in March when he wore what looked like a wedding band on his left
ring finger. Though her rep denied it, Sandra hasn’t addressed the news herself. “When they get married, they both have said they would elope,” says the source. “They wouldn’t tell anyone; it would be kept a secret until after they get married.”
WHAT THE FUTURE HOLDS
Sandra wouldn’t go public with her pregnancy news, either. “The last thing she’d ever do is announce that she’s expecting,” says the insider. But the buzz among those who know her is that Laila and Louis have a little brother or sister on the way. “The gender doesn’t matter to them,” says the insider. “They’d be happy with a boy or a girl, as long as it’s healthy.”
