The Property Brothers TORN APART

With one flying high and the other at a new low, Jonathan and Drew Scott struggle to see eye to eye

-

Drew Scott’s wedding is weeks away — and he can’t stop gushing about it. In an April 8 Instagram post, the HGTV star asked fans to suggest hashtags for his big day alongside a lovedup photo of himself with fiancée Linda Phan, 33. “Why is Linda the one for me? She absolutely shines,” Drew, 39, recently told Life & Style. “It’s her smile, it’s her personality.… She’s one of a kind.”

But the happiest time of Drew’s life is coming as his twin and Property Brothers co- star, Jonathan, grapples with heartbreak. On April 6, Jonathan announced that he and his girlfriend of three years, Jacinta Kuznetsov, had split — and he’s having trouble putting on a brave face for his sibling’s special moment. “Jonathan is going through a rough time right now and feels left in the shadow of Drew, who is excitedly counting down to his wedding,” a source tells Life & Style. “It’s causing a rift between the two of them. Things have gotten so bad, they’ve stopped talking at times. Drew’s praying Jonathan won’t act up on his big day.”

“I DO”S IN JEOPARDY?

The sudden breakup has already caused more than a seating chart snafu for the engaged duo, who are set to wed in Italy in May. Jacinta, 29, “was supposed to take part in the wedding,” says an insider. “Drew and Linda really liked her and are pretty upset that Jonathan broke things off. Drew was hoping Jacinta would still come, but Jonathan doesn’t want her there.” In fact, he couldn’t believe his brother even suggested it. “They had a blowout fight,” says the insider. “Jonathan threw a fit, threatening that he wouldn’t attend the wedding at all.”

Drew blames his twin for the breakup — and he doesn’t feel like he’s be-

ing insensitive. While Jonathan has publicly explained that he and Jacinta simply found themselves on paths that weren’t “in the same direction,” his brother believes that the previously divorced star “sabotaged his relationship,” the insider explains. “Jonathan is afraid to commit and Drew thinks he’s an idiot for letting Jacinta go. She was a great girl, and of course the timing couldn’t be worse.”

SEPARATE LIVES

This isn’t the first time the home gurus, who also star on Brother vs. Brother and other HGTV spinoffs, have butted heads. “Like most brothers, they’ve always tried to one-up each other,” notes the insider. “They’re very competit ive. That ’ s nothing new.” B ut Jo n a - than’s not handling his loss to Drew in the love game very well. “Jonathan’s afraid that now he’ll never meet the woman of his dreams,” says the source. “He keeps envisioning his brother being happily married with a family while he’s single and alone.”

But the groom refuses to let his nuptials turn into his sibling’s pity party. “Drew already blames Jonathan for putting a damper on their wedding,” says the insider. “He doesn’t want Jonathan sulking in a corner, casting a dark cloud over the actual big day. Drew will never forgive his brother if he ruins their wedding.”
