HAPPILY EVER AFTER

All the details of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s dreamy tropical honeymoon.

The days leading up to a wedding are always stressful, but for Meghan Markle, they were pure chaos. On May 17, just two days before she was set to say “I do” to Prince Harry at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle, she issued a statement confirming reports that her father, Thomas, who’d recently had heart surgery, would “sadly...not be attending our wedding.” As the couple attended rehearsals and spent time with Meghan’s mom, Doria Ragland, they scrambled to decide who would walk the bride down the aisle. Meghan “was riddled with anxiety,” says an insider. “In some ways, she wished she and Harry could just escape.”

Now, at long last, that’s what they’re doing. Harry, 33, has planned a lavish honeymoon, Life & Style has exclusively learned, that will include stays in both Namibia and the Seychelles islands. It’s a trip he designed specifically to ease all the tension Meghan, 36, experienced in the long runup to their big day. “After all the pressures of planning their wedding, Harry is determined to make their honeymoon the trip of a lifetime,” says another source. “He isn’t holding back when it comes to splashing out. Harry’s willing to spend as much as $1 million to make it perfect!”

ROMANCE & PRIVACY

The duo decided not to rush off right after exchanging vows. Their first royal engagement as a married couple — the 70th birthday celebration of Harry’s dad, Prince Charles — was scheduled for May 22 at Buckingham Palace. But Harry’s planned a luxe getaway for when their calendar clears, the source says.

Their first stop, Namibia, has special meaning. A favorite vacation spot of A-listers like Charlize Theron, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie (who gave birth to Shiloh there), the scenic African country borders Botswana, where Harry took the Suits star for her birthday last year. “We camped out with each other under the stars,” Harry’s said. “[It] was absolutely fantastic.” The prince’s engagement ring for Meghan even included a diamond from Botswana, a demonstration of how significant the region is to them both. But Namibia offers an even more remote getaway — which, after so many months in the spotlight, is what Harry and Meghan were looking for. “They’ll be surrounded by mountains, sand dunes and wildlife, and will enjoy candlelit dinners in complete seclusion,” says the source, adding that Harry has planned lots of activities that he knows his bride will love, including “safaris, horseback riding and private tours.”

ISLAND PARADISE

After all that action, Harry will whisk Meghan off to the luxurious Seychelles islands — where his brother, Prince William, spent his honeymoon with Kate Middleton — for the second part of their epic vacation. There, they can simply relax. “Harry and Meghan will stay in a multimillion-dollar mansion that comes with a private chef, masseuse and driver,” the source says. “They’ll stroll on beautiful white sand beaches on the Indian Ocean and enjoy five-star treatment.” And, of course, they’ll begin another important project. “Harry and Meghan have talked about starting a family immediately,” the source says. “They both adore kids and they don’t want to wait around!”
