Abeaming Ben Affleck rolled up to his new $19.25 million, 13,000- square-foot home in LA’S Pacific Palisades neighborhood on May 24, followed by a moving truck. Before heading inside, he wrapped his arms around girlfriend Lindsay Shookus and took it all in. “Lindsay’s been with Ben every step of the way with the move — she house-hunted with him, shopped for furniture with him, all of it,” a source tells Life & Style. “This is clearly a new chapter for them. He’s really in love.”

Lindsay’s thrilled — but Ben’s estranged wife, Jennifer Garner, is livid. And this growing animosity has boiled over into a war between the women, Life & Style has learned. “Ben and Lindsay are playing house now and Lindsay is planning to spend

a lot of time in LA with him and their kids this summer,” the source explains. With the Saturday Night Live producer’s show on hiatus until September, it’s the perfect opportunity to bring her 5-year- old daughter Madeline (with TV producer ex Kevin Miller) to LA to spend time with Ben and his kids with Jen, Violet, 12, Seraphina, 9, and Samuel, 6. Lindsay, 37, “is ready for their families to blend — and Jen isn’t,” says the source. “There’s a power struggle between them, and Ben has to play referee.”

BAD BLOOD

Jen, 46, has no problem letting Ben, 45, know how she feels. “Jen can’t stand Lindsay,” says an insider close to Lindsay. Though Lindsay and Ben went public in July 2017, Jen believes the relationship began before her marriage ended in 2015. “Jen is one of the nicest, most congenial people in the world — except when it come to Lindsay,” notes the insider. “Jen has preferred to have limited dealings with

Lindsay, who she views as the enemy, an interloper and an opportunist, and she’s put Ben on notice about it.” Making matters worse, Lindsay’s already acting like a stepmom. The same day she helped Ben move into his new place, she was also by his side at a Whole Foods in nearby Brentwood. “Lindsay showered Ben with kiss-

es while they were grocery shopping,” says a witness, “but she was also obviously thinking about the kids as they moved from aisle to aisle. Lindsay made sure he bought all of their favorite things, including graham crackers, cookies, ice cream and lemonade.”

Ben’s tried to play peacemaker. “He tells Jen that Lindsay is a good person and good for him, but

Jen finds his words maddening,” says the insider. Though Jen has tried to keep things cordial with Ben in the wake of their breakup, “she can’t open her arms to the woman she feels helped wreck her marriage,” says the source. “Ben’s trying really hard to smooth things over, but Jen feels Lindsay needs to step back and know her place.”
