She looked like a typical kid. But 11-year-old Britney Spears was already a seasoned professional when she starred in an ad for Maull’s Barbecue Sauce in 1993. She’d understudied the lead role in the off-broadway musical Ruthless, appeared as a contestant on Star Search and just begun a stint on The Mickey Mouse Club. For this gig, though, the pop star’s hearty appetite no doubt helped her nail the part of a girl who loves sloppy joes. “When I’m hungry, it’s like, ‘Don’t talk to me.’ I am the devil,” jokes Britney, 36. “I love food so much.”
