MTV’S REBOOTING THE HILLS

-

Whether it was reality TV, scripted drama or something in between, The Hills kept us obsessed during six seasons on MTV. And now, eight years after the show ended, it’s coming back! A reboot effort earlier this year fizzled, but an insider tells Life & Style it’s moving forward again. “With all the success networks have had with reboots, MTV has been desperate to bring The Hills back,” the insider says. “They’ve reached out to all the show’s stars and will be announcing the new season soon!” The Laguna Beach spinoff started out following Lauren Conrad, Heidi Montag, Audrina Patridge and Whitney Port when it launched in 2006, and Kristin Cavallari later became the main star. Audrina, 33, might take on that role this time around. “I don’t know if Kristin can do it because she’s doing her show [E!’s Very Cavallari],” Audrina told Life & Style at the Shiseido Beach House Malibu Brunch on June 3. “I don’t think Lauren would [do it].” But Audrina’s open to doing the show, though she insists daughter Kirra, 23 months, wouldn’t be a part of it. “There was so much drama last time and it started affecting our real lives,” Audrina notes. “I don’t want to bring my daugh- ter into that.” Audrina is confident that Heidi, 31, would also come back, as would Justin Brescia (aka Justin Bobby), 36. As for the other boys, “Brody Jenner, Spencer Pratt and Frankie Delgado are still working out their deals,” the insider says. “But MTV is anxious to make the announcement soon!”
