But as she clung to his waist while riding around on a scooter, George looked noticeably tense. And just days later, on June 4, it wasn’t just George with the grim attitude. On their way to dinner at the island’s Il Marino di Puntaldia, both George and Amal looked stiff and unsmiling.

But there was something else striking about those photos of the couple. One year after welcoming twins Ella and Alexander, rail-thin Amal showed a small but clear belly bump, and friends are buzzing that the human rights lawyer is preg- nant again. As happy as they’d be to welcome another baby, the timing isn’t exactly ideal. fighting so much, they sometimes sleep in separate bedrooms, says a source. “They discussed having more kids before they got to a crisis point in the marriage,” the source notes. “Things have been really rocky for the past couple of months. Friends have wondered about the possibility of divorce more than once, but they’re hopeful that having another child will bring them back together.”
