You only turn 5 once! North West celebrated her halfdecade birthday in true Kardashian style, with a super-spendy trip to NYC courtesy of parents Kim Kardashian and Kanye West. Kim, 37, and Kanye, 41, “splashed out $10,000 for just a few days in New York,” an insider says of the over-the-top vacay. Things kicked off with a salon trip: “North had her hair straightened especially for the occasion, ‘to look like Mommy,’” the insider reveals. She also wore several expensive new outfits throughout the birthday festivities — which turned out to be super sweet ( literally!). The day before her birthday included a trip to trendy Coolmess parlor, where she made her own ice cream with Mom, Dad and friends, as well as a shopping spree at Dylan’s Candy Bar. On the big day, June 15, North and her entourage lunched at the exclusive Cipriani restaurant and had dinner at the pricey Polo Bar. They also went to a pet store, where she picked out a pink fighting fish, then on to Sugar Factory for more sweets. The day ended with a performance of the Broadway musical Frozen. There was cake, too — two of them, from the famed Flour Shop bakery. And though the birthday girl and her pals had a fabulous time, a source tells Life & Style that the sugar took its toll. Kim’s sister, Kourtney, “had warned Kim not to give the kids so many sweets,” says the source. “That was the biggest drama — sugar highs and sugar hangovers!”
