What really went down on Angelina Jolie’s secret night out with Justin Theroux.
The rumors have been flying. Exes Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt have grown close in the months since their respective splits, and some reports claim they’re already talking about getting married again and having a baby. The pair have been talking, Life & Style can confirm — and Angelina Jolie isn’t happy about it. “She hates that everyone still roots for golden couple Brad and Jen to be together,” says a friend, “while she’s forever painted as the villain in their original breakup.”
She’s out for revenge — and she’s using Jen’s estranged husband, Justin Theroux, to get it. Life & Style has exclusively learned that Angelina,
43, has been trying to seduce the actor, 47, to spite Jen. “When Angie was in NYC recently,” reveals the friend, “she got a hold of Justin via his team under the guise of talking about a movie role with him.” Even though Angie is his ex’s longtime rival, he agreed to a dinner. “She asked him to meet up at his favorite restaurant,” a source says of their night out. “There was instant chemistry and they ended up talking all night. Afterward, Justin raved to pals that he’d had
dinner with the most beautiful and fascinating woman in the world.”
SURPRISING SIMILARITIES
Angelina knows how to get what she wants — especially when it comes to men. After marrying two costars, Jonny Lee Miller and Billy Bob Thornton, the actress went on to charm her third husband, Brad, 54, while he was still married to America’s Sweetheart, Jen, 49. Signing on to a new project with Justin could lead to romance once again — and would definitely cause angst for Jen. “Angie knows how to get under Jen’s skin,” says an insider. “The whole dinner was very orchestrated. She did her homework and picked a restaurant Justin loved.”
The dimly lit downtown location wasn’t the only thing that appealed to Justin during their secret midweek rendezvous. He and Angie — who filed for divorce from Brad in 2016 after two years of marriage — actually found they had a lot in common. “They laughed when they first sat down because they were both wearing all black,” says a source. (Angelina’s spokesperson could not be reached for comment; Justin’s rep didn’t reply to a request for comment.) “Justin remarked that he felt like they were having a meeting right out of a spy novel, and they both laughed again. She caught on to Justin’s quirky sense of humor right away, something Jen was never able to do.”
Indeed, while Jen confessed she was “con-
stantly scared” of Justin’s pranks during their roughly two- year marriage, Angie was pleasantly surprised by his playfulness during their evening together. “She seemed fascinated by his edgy, interesting manner and the projects he was passionate about,” the source says of the pair’s NYC date. “And she charmed him by saying that she’d always wanted to work with him. Before long, Angelina had Justin under her spell.”
NEW COMMITMENT
Since his late 2017 split from Jen, Justin has been linked to a bevy of beauties, including Sienna Miller, Emma Stone, Selena Gomez and Olivia Munn. But he’d never met anyone like Angelina, says the insider: “He was blown away by how exotic she was, the way she walked into the room, the way she spoke.”
There was certainly plenty to discuss. Justin “loved listening to Angie talk eloquently about her human rights work and how she now preferred directing to acting,” says the source. “But he also got lost in her eyes a number of times!”
He came to his senses long enough to tentatively agree to sign on to Angie’s project, says the friend. “He was charmed by her passion. By the time they walked out of the restaurant, they were hugging and kissing goodbye.”
WHAT’S NEXT?
The encounter is Jen’s worst nightmare. Ironically, “Angie and Justin are actually a way better match than he and Jen ever were,” notes the insider. Still, though their split has been anything but amicable and their divorce pro- ceedings continue to drag on, Justin knows an actual romance with Angelina would be crossing a line. “Jen would be livid, just about the idea of them meeting and working together,” says the source. “At this point, Justin feels it would be just wrong and would devastate Jen if it ever turned into more than friendship. He’s decided to keep their relationship strictly professional — for now.”
