Aww! Justin Timberlake opens up about his lasting romance with Jessica Biel
Jessica Biel’s beauty was, he admits, “undeniable.” But the first time Justin Timberlake met the actress — in a group attending a surprise party in Hollywood — her looks weren’t what caught his attention. “I made some sort of sarcastic comment, really dry,” he says. “Nobody got it except her.” They talked. They danced to Madonna’s “Lucky Star.” But he didn’t get her number. “And then,” the singer recalls, “she was gone.”
That’s how it all started. The sweet account is just one of many revelations Justin, 37, shares in his new memoir, Hindsight & All the Things I Can’t See in Front of Me. To fans’ surprise, Justin — who’s never spoken so openly about his wife of six years — also confesses everything from why they continued dating other people early on to the moment he learned Jessica was pregnant with their son, Silas, 3. He even opens up about what their relationship is like now. “Jess is Justin’s rock and the love of his life, which is why he finally talks about their romance in his book,” an insider tells Life & Style. “He wants the world to know how much she means to him.”
SLOW BURN
The pop star credits Jessica, 36, with changing his life. But it took a minute. Justin, who’d just ended a four-year relationship with Cameron Diaz, was
thrilled when, after their initial meeting, a mutual friend brought Jess to the first night of his Futuresex/ LoveShow tour in San Diego in 2007. He offered her and her friends a ride on his tour bus and this time, got her number. They talked for a week, saw each other at a Golden Globes party and, he says, “We started dating.” They were still seeing other people, though. “[We were] keeping ourselves safe from getting hurt, from really putting ourselves out there,” he explains. When he finished his tour, “We spent a month together. After that, I said, ‘I really want to be exclusive.’ ” So did Jess. After a brief split in 2011, they got engaged, wed in 2012 and while he was on tour in Detroit in 2014, Jess told him over Facetime that they were expecting their first child. Says JT, “We both started bawling.” Now, after nearly 12 years together, his wife still has him feeling emotional. “I’m fascinated by her. She’s everything, man,” Justin gushes. “I wake up and roll over and look at her, and I’m inspired.” And he saw Hindsight as an opportunity to give Jess her due. “She helped Justin grow and develop so much,” says the insider. “He knows he wouldn’t be where he is today if it wasn’t for her love and support all these years.”
