Royally sweet! PRINCE CHARLES’ 71st birthday wish is to unite his family.

Inside Prince Charles’ stealth plan to end the feud between his daughters-in-law

-

Prince Charles showed the world how much he adores daughter-inlaw Meghan Markle when he proudly walked her down the aisle to his son Prince Harry during the pair’s 2018 wedding. “With Meghan estranged from her own father,” explains a royals source, “Charles has taken her under his wing. He’s always there for Meghan.” Charles has also long been a fan of elder son Prince William’s wife, Kate Middleton. “He absolutely adores Kate, too,” adds the source. “Over the years, they’ve developed an unbreakable bond.”

So reports of a rift between the duchesses — which continues to make headlines — hasn’t sat well with Charles. “There’s nothing he would love more than for Kate and Meghan to put their feud behind them,” says the source. “So he’s come up with a genius plan to help his daughters-in-law reunite: He’s asked them to plan his birthday celebration together.” The future king, who turns 71 on Nov. 14, didn’t go directly to Meghan, 38, and Kate, 37, though. “He knew it could backfire — the last thing he wants is to come across as an interfering father- in- law who’s stirring the pot,” explains the source. Instead, “he went through

William and Harry, urging them to do the actual asking. He confessed that his birthday wish is for their wives to make amends — and for everyone to just get along!”

CALLING A TRUCE

The brothers want their dad to be happy. “William and Harry think it’s a great idea,” says the source of Charles’ plot, adding that one of the reasons the dukes have had issues, too — Harry, 35, moved an hour away from William, 37, and established his own court, or office, as well as his own charitable foundation with his wife amid rumblings of discord — “is because Meghan and Kate clashed on so many levels. They miss the old days and want to be one big, happy family again.”

It may take more than a party to broker lasting peace, but it’s a start. “Charles knows all about the duchesses’ hobbies and strengths,” says the source, noting Meghan’s talent for calligraphy and Kate’s history of always bringing the perfect dish to family gatherings, “so he suggested Meghan handle the invites and Kate speak to the caterers.”

These days, family is incredibly important to Charles. “He’s softened with age,” explains the source. “Instead of being miserable about his birthday because it’s a sign he’s getting older” — and hardly any closer to the crown (see box) — “he views it in a positive light, as an opportunity for his loved ones to come together under one roof!”
