WAS KANYE BEHIND KYLIE'S FORBES TAKEDOWN?

-

Last summer, Forbes featured

Kylie’s brother-in-law Kanye

West on its cover. He’s made hundreds of millions of dollars from his music, property portfolio and, of course, his lucrative Yeezy footwear brand deal with Adidas

— though the magazine stopped short of calling him a billionaire like he wanted and expected. Afterward, the rapper texted a Forbes reporter to call it a “disrespectful article” that was “purposely snubbing me.” In

October, he said it was a “stab” that Forbes branded Kylie a billionaire but not him. Kanye eventually got his way when he provided the outlet with financial documentation that reporters believe confirm he’s worth $1.3 billion — which only upset him again, as he maintains his net worth is a cool $3.3 billion. After Forbes removed Kylie from its billionaires list in May — a scathing rebuke — “there were whispers that Kanye was responsible,” says a source. “Some think Kanye may have tipped Forbes off [that her numbers were inaccurate], because that would make him the only billionaire in the family.” he were to actually date her, it would be mind-boggling,” says the source. “Scott’s known her since she was practically a little girl.” Kylie was just a tween when Scott and Kourtney met at Girls Gone Wild founder Joe Francis’ Mexico home back in 2006. “It’s disgusting,” blasts the source, “but Scott’s never cared about what people think of him. He always brushes off his haters.”

ULTERIOR MOTIVE?

That’s exactly what Kylie recently found herself doing, too. Forbes magazine — which barely a year ago christened Kylie the world’s youngest self-made billionaire — just rescinded the title (see box), publishing a bombshell story on May 29 accusing Kylie and her team of misrepresenting her Kylie Cosmetics brand’s earnings and lying about its value and tax return figures before the lip kit mo

gul sold a 51 percent stake to beauty giant Coty for $600 million earlier this year. Still, Forbes admitted, Kylie — the richest of all her sisters — remains worth a jaw-dropping amount: just under $900 million.

And no one loves wealth and excess more than Lord Disick. “It’s no secret he’s obsessed with money, and Kylie is the ultimate catch,” says the source, noting that Scott himself has struggled financially — thanks, in part, to hard partying and bad investments. At one point, he was believed to have a $40 million fortune, but even so that figure pales in comparison to Kylie’s numbers. “Kylie’s friends are gossiping that Scott is desperate for her money,” shares the source. Before Kylie welcomed daughter Stormi, 2, with ex-boyfriend Travis Scott, 28, “she once said she would leave her business to her niece Penelope. Scott’s eyes lit up.”

He’s no dummy, adds the source: “He’s up to something. He’s keeping his foot in the door with Kylie, one way or the other.” While a rep for Kylie denies the pair are dating, Kourtney just hopes it stays that way. “The thought of Kylie and Scott together makes her skin crawl,” says the source. “She’s threatened that Scott will never see his kids again if he seriously pursues Kylie.” Meanwhile, adds the source, momager Kris Jenner, 64, has started the process of canceling Scott’s E! contract. “She feels like he’s betrayed the family more than enough times and doesn’t need to keep using them as cash cows,” explains the source. “Any attempt Scott is making to woo Kylie is simply confirmation to Kourtney and others in the family that he needs to check himself back into rehab.”
