Up for a Fight!

“She’s trying to persuade Olivier to reach some form of agreement, but he’s digging in,” says a source. “Mary-kate has no idea when this divorce will be finalized.” days leading up to her 34th birthday on June 13, newly single Mary-kate Olsen found herself holed up in a Hamptons rental home — with no end to her messy breakup in sight. “She’s coping with crippling anxiety,” a source says of the actress, who requested an emergency petition to file for divorce from Olivier Sarkozy, 51, in early May — only to be turned down by the New York courts, then on hiatus due to the COVID-19 crisis. “At the moment, she hates even leaving the house.”

She’s already had to leave two homes against her will. The failed emergency petition was to stop Olivier from throwing Mary-kate out of their NYC apartment — and he’s since made the duo’s Bridgehampton mansion off-limits to her, too. Sadly, says the source, it appears to be just the beginning of the drama. “Money-wise, he’s fighting for what he feels is rightfully his and refuses to back down until he gets what he wants,” the source claims, noting that $250 million woman Mary-kate successfully refiled for divorce on May 25. “Olivier is making life unbearable for Mary-kate, and she feels like she has nothing to celebrate. It’s been the birthday from hell.”

SISTERLY HELP

Mary-kate is finding support amid all this from her twin, Ashley, whom the source says organized a “small birthday get-together” for the two of them, in order to “put a smile on her face.” “She feels tortured by Olivier,” shares the source of Mary-kate’s having little else to smile about. “She wishes she could just escape.”
