MARRIAGE RULES

-

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez have learned from their mistakes — and this time they’re doing things differently! The newlyweds came up with a list of five ways to ensure that their marriage stays on track after tying the knot in Las Vegas on July 16. “Ben and J. Lo made these rules to keep themselves accountable and to remind them that their relationship always comes first,” a source tells Life & Style. “That’s something that didn’t always happen in the past.”

1.) SPEND NO MORE THAN 5 DAYS APART

“Any more than that and they’ll fly to where the other is,” reveals the source. “They’re also really going to make an effort to stagger projects. It’ll be hard because Ben and J. Lo are both so busy, but worth it in the end.”

2.) BE IN CONSTANT COMMUNICATION

Better Hustle when she calls! Ben, 50, and Jennifer, 53, have agreed to Facetime each other twice a day when they’re away from each other because “text messages can often be misconstrued,” explains the source.

3.) TAKE CHILD-FREE VACATIONS

Finding alone time in a full house isn’t easy for Ben and J. Lo, who have five kids in total from previous marriages. “They’re going to go away every few months,” says the source. “Even if it’s just for a night to a hotel in LA.”

4.) LEAVE THE PAST IN THE PAST

No point in bringing it up now! “Anything they argued about back when they first dated is considered ancient history,” spills the source. “They’ve moved on.”

5.) KEEP WORK SEPARATE

Between Gigli bombing at the box office and Ben getting mocked for his role in J. Lo’s 2002 music video for “Jenny From the Block,” the couple have “no plans” to share the screen again, says the source.

?? ?? “We're older now, we're smarter, we have more experience,” J. Lo said of reconnecting with Ben 20 years after their first engagement.
