GORDON ALAN ROBY

-

Gordon Alan Roby, 68, of Lodi California, beloved husband and best friend of Carol (Pretl) Roby of 42 years, passed away peacefully surrounded by the ones he laughed with, lived for, and loved on November 14th 2016. Gordon grew up in Santa Clara, California where he graduated from Bellarmine College Preparatory and Santa Clara University. Gordon was an incredibly intelligent, creative, hardworking, loyal, kind and generous man. With his business partner, John Diederich, they together successfully ran and operated Mokelumne River Forest Products for over 28 years. He spent his time enjoying a variety of creative hobbies as well as his favorite pastimes, baseball and golfing. With a handicap of 10, who wouldn’t?

The most important part of life Gordon was most proud of were his three children, Michael, Thomas (Jessica), and Lisa (Ryan), and his four grandchildren, Madison, Tabitha, Brendan and Thomas (aka Buster). Gordon is survived by his mother, Josephine Roby; wife, Carol Roby; brother, Philip (Sherie) Roby; his three children; four grandchildren; as well as his many cousins, nieces, nephews and so, so many friends. No services will be held per Gordon’s request. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bronco Bench, Santa Clara University, The American Cancer Society, or Bret Barrett Scholarship Fund, C/O Marin Community, Hamilton Landing, Suite 200, Novato, CA. A guest book may be signed at http:// www.lodifuneralhome.com where memories can be shared.

As Gordon would say, “It is what it is”.
