Jasmine is an approximately four-month-old, spayed, female fluffy Torbie. Jasmine and her two sisters were rescued by PALS in September and they got to spend their first few months with us in the care of one of our wonderful fosters where they received round the clock love and attention. Both of Jasmine’s sisters were adopted within days of coming back into PALS, and Jasmine thinks it should be her turn next. Jasmine is a sweet and loving kitten that really enjoys being near people and she’s quite the cuddler. She loves to be held and have her ears scratched, and when she’s in her happy place her purr motor goes non-stop. She’s a very active and playful kitty, too, and she’s yet to meet a toy mouse that she can’t catch. Jasmine is a very curious and outgoing kitten and she gets along very well with the other cats that she shares a room with, though hopefully not for long, as she’s ready to find her forever home. If you’d love to bring this little bundle of love home with you, please come in and meet her!

For more information about Jasmine, please call PALS at 209-224-0354.To see other cats and dogs available for adoption, stop by the PALS Adoption Center located in Lodi at 1405 W. Kettleman Lane, next to the Lodi Animal Shelter. Center hours are Tuesday to Saturday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., and closed Sunday and Monday. PALS is a Lodi-based, nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the welfare of companion animals in Lodi by increasing the number of animals adopted, reducing animal suffering and providing the highest level of humane care; thus ultimately reducing the number of surplus companion animals euthanized in the city of Lodi. Visit our link at petfinder.com to view cats and dogs currently available for adoption or our website at www.palslodi.org and find out how you can volunteer and/or foster the many animals waiting for permanent homes.

••• Adorable Ozzie is one of five 14-week-old terrier mixes. Ozzie currently weighs 41⁄2 pounds. He has had three of his DHLPPs, has been dewormed as well as microchipped and is scheduled to be neutered. Ozzie’s siblings are Ryder, Simon, Freddie and Chico. These precious puppies were in a situation where they were not being cared for when an AFC employee offered to foster them. They are used to other dogs and are good with cats. These little guys are affectionate, loving, happy, healthy and playful puppies. They love their squeaky toys and will play tug-o-war. Mom looks like a little spaniel/dachshund mix and Dad is a Terrier mix. They will be wonderful, loving little companions.

Ozzie is being offered for adoption through Animal Friends Connection, a Lodi nonprofit organization dedicated to helping companion animals since 1990. For more information about her, call 209-365-0535. To view other dogs and cats available for adoption, visit the sanctuary at 933 S. Cherokee Lane, Lodi, or visit www.animalfriendsconnect.org or www.facebook.com/animalfriendsconnection. Sanctuary hours are from noon to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on weekends.

Animal Friends Connection is seeking volunteers for the Walk N Wag program, held at 10 a.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. Our volunteer walkers take small dogs on a one-mile loop walk around our sanctuary. The dogs love it, and the walkers help keep them happy, healthy and well socialized. If you can’t adopt or foster, this is a great way to participate. Volunteer to make a difference!

••• Presenting Puma! This striking four-year-old is a gorgeous Siamese who was adopted from an animal shelter only to be given the boot and tossed outside. He has a microchip that was scanned by a local veterinary office; however, the previous owners didn’t claim this sweet beauty. One of our amazing fosters at Second Chance Kitty, swooped him up and brought him into safety while a search was conducted for the owners and appropriate waiting period came and went. We think Puma needs to possibly be an only kitty or perhaps with a female. His foster mom thinks perhaps he was kicked out because he has urinated in the house a few times, probably trying to compete with the many kitties at his foster home. He has not had an accident while being kept in a room by himself. Puma is very vocal and likes to let you know when he wants you to pet him. He’s a pretty mellow guy who loves to rub against you for some love and attention and even on your lap. Puma does well with smaller children ages four years and up, as long as they are well-mannered. He also is great with big or small behaved dogs. Puma is waiting for someone to dedicate their love, patience and time to him.

Puma is neutered, vaccinated, rabies checked, microchipped, dewormed, deflead and is available for adoption through Second Chance Kitty, a local nonprofit 501(c)3 organization dedicated to assisting cats, kittens and an occasional dog escape a life of abandonment, abuse and neglect. Interested parties may call the adoption coordinator at 209817-3030, visit our Facebook page at Second Chance Kitty, or email 2chancekittys@gmail.com.
