JOHN T. REYES

John Reyes of Lodi passed away on November 28, 2016 at the age of 89.

John was born December 27, 1926 in Stockton, CA. His parents were Salvadore and Antonia Reyes.

He proudly and honorably served his country in the U.S. Merchant Maries from 19421946.

On December 11, 1948, John married the love of his life, Nelly Rios and they have been married for 68 years.

John graduated from Delta College with a degree in electrical technology. He was a diligent worker as an Electrician in Lodi, Stockton, and surrounding areas of California. He retired in the mid-1990’s.

He was a member of the American Legion for over 30 years, and a member of IBEW Local 595 for 64 years.

John was a loving, kind, gentle husband, father, grandfather and greatgrandfather. He is survived by his wife; Nelly Reyes, brother; Nacho Reyes, sister; Mary Helen Huerta, daughters; Teri Grisler (Kevin), and Victoria Carranco (Louie), grandchildren; Shauna Love (Tom), Patrick Grisler (Hailey), Nicholas Carranco, Tiffany Carranco, greatgrandchildren; Jayse King, Grace Grisler, Wyatt Grisler and Alexis Love. He was preceded in death by his daughter; Barbara Reyes, parents; Salvador and Antonia Reyes, 1 sister and 8 brothers.

Friends may visit Tuesday, December 6, 2016 from Noon until 8:00 p.m. with the recitation of the Holy Rosary on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. at Lodi Funeral Home, 725 S. Fairmont Ave., and are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, December 7, 2016, 10:00 a.m. at the Catholic Church of Saint Stephen, the First Martyr, 5461 44th Street, Sacramento, CA. 95820, with interment at Cherokee Memorial Park, Hwy 99 and Harney Lane, Lodi, immediately following.
