LARRY RAY WESTGATE
1941 – 2016
Larry Ray Westgate was born December 31, 1941 in Adrian, Michigan. He graduated from Lodi High School, where he was a star basketball player. Larry was a lifelong Michigan Wolverine fan. Go Blue! Larry graduated from University of the Pacific with a degree in Pharmacy, but also enjoyed performing with the musical foursome called The Idols. After college he was a dedicated pharmacist for 42 years.
Larry was a member of Faith Community Church, and loved participating in The Herd, a men’s group who focused on Bible study. He also enjoyed boating, camping, and traveling. Larry fought the disease of Parkinson’s for five long years, and is finally free from his suffering. He died on December 2, and is now in the presence of his savior, Jesus Christ.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents Ray and Treva Westgate, as well as his sister Maureen Clemons. He is survived by his loving wife Joann Westgate, and their four children: Jeffrey Westgate (Christina), Jodi Wold (Tony), Gina Bernstein (Gary), and Bryan Wendell (Nora). Larry was proud of all eight of his wonderful grandchildren: Sean, Joshua, Bryson, Taylor, Kaitlyn, Mathew, Alex, and Olyvia. Larry is also survived by his brothers LeRoy, Jim and Steve Westgate, and well as many nieces and nephews.
