Project Santa’s Children 2016
Christmas has many meanings to different people.
We believe this is a time for family, friends and celebrating the birth of our savior.
But there is a very special magic happening this time of year. It’s about believing. Believing in Santa and the excitement about Christmas. It’s for the children.
All children should have the opportunity to experience the wonderment of snowflakes, beautiful lit trees, Christmas music, hot chocolate with marshmallows, candy canes and of course, Santa.
We wanted to bring the “magic” of Christmas to the children of our community that maybe needed a little magic in their lives. Many of the local schools, outreach programs and churches participated. Many students came from Wodbridge School, Lodi House, and Grace and Mercy to name a few organizations.
With the help of so many good people, friends and family and of course Santa we were able to bring some of that magic to them.
Santa sat in his big chair “ho ho ho’ing” and sometimes needing to coax the little ones over to sit on his knee and reveal their wishes for Christmas. Some children brought their lists and read them to him. There were elves and reindeers helping to pass out presents and watch their eyes light up with all that was twinkling.
This was hosted by those that “believe.” It was a group effort that helped to bring the joy to few children that might not been able to see the magic and believe.
