Thanking those who helped make local food drive a huge success

-

Editor: On behalf of City of Lodi’s GrapeLine and MV Transportation, we want to thank everyone who helped make this year’s Stuff the Bus Food Drive a huge success on Nov 19 and 20. With the community’s generosity, a total of 5,643 pounds of food were collected in Lodi to benefit Lodi’s Salvation Army Food Bank. Of this total, 700 pounds were collected at Lodi Middle School and 4,943 pounds were collected at Food-4-Less.

Our success could not have been achieved without the generous donations made by our community members and the hard work of our volunteers, local staff, and partners including Charley Hauner and the students of Lodi Middle School, Food-4Less and Cumulus Broadcasting (including KWIN staff). In addition, the coordination efforts by San Joaquin Regional Transit District staff, as well as promotion efforts made by Lodi News-Sentinel staff were key to making this event a success.

Special recognition should be given to the many students from Lodi Middle School, Tokay, Lodi and McNair high schools, and University of the Pacific for their energetic participation.

City of Lodi GrapeLine and MV Transportation appreciate our community’s support through the annual Stuff the Bus food drive. By working together, we were able to assist residents in need this holiday season.

Thank you. CITY OF LODI GRAPELINE , MV TRANSPORTATION, INC. STAFF, SALVATION ARMY LODI CORPS
