Lodians should see a dry, cool Christmas weekend

- By Danielle Vaughn NEWS-SENTINEL STAFF WRITER

With rainy weather the past two days, Lodians will be glad to know that a dry Christmas is on the horizon.

There might be a shower this morning, but it is not expected to rain very much, according to Ken Clark, senior meteorologist with Accuweather.com, a private forecasting service. Clark says to expect clouds and sunshine with a high of 51 degrees. Tonight will be chilly with clear to partly cloudy skies.

There is a chance for some fog to roll in on Christmas Sunday, but otherwise skies will be partly sunny with temperatures right around 50 degrees.

“It will be kind of chilly, but it should be dry,” Clark said.

Monday is looking like it will be a nice day with the weather being mostly sunny throughout the day, Clark said. Clark said he’s not expecting rain clouds for as far out as next Friday.

The weather is expected to cold for a while but is expected to be milder during the latter half of next week.

Clark expects high temperatures to hover around 50 degrees through Sunday before rising to the mid to upper 50s by the end of next week.

For those going to the mountains for the holidays, Clark warns that there will be a lot of snow that could make for dangerous driving conditions.

“There’s going to be snow showers left over in the mountains tomorrow above 3,500 feet and people going to the mountains should certainly check road conditions before they leave and also have chains with them,” Clark said.
