RICARDO “RICKY” ANTONIO ARRIAGA

-

January 14, 1997 – December 15, 2016

In a galaxy not that far away, lived an ambitious, young Jedi, who was born in Sacramento, CA but grew up in a small community — Galt. Ricardo was full of life and was taken too soon on a cold, rainy night in a horrific automobile accident. He passed away at the age of 19.

Ricardo was reunited in heaven with his mother — Herminia Vivanco Arriaga, and is survived by his father — Manuel “Richard” Arriaga; stepmother — Arlette; his sister — Antonia “Toni” his halfbrothers — Matt and Chris; his step-brothers and sisters — Kristie, Caleb, Levi and Ariel; his grandfather — Francisco Vivanco; his aunts and uncles — Jimmy Arriaga, Tim and Maria DaPrato, Frank and Tere Vivanco, Javier and Anitia VivancoBecerra, Oswaldo and Gudelia “Maria” Dominguez, Rigo Vivanco and Angelo Vivanco; his cousins — Angela and Carolyn DaPrato; Elizabeth, Carolina and Marcos Dominguez; Robert and Ruben Becerra; Brianna and Francisco III “Franky” Vivanco; Myrah, Angelo Jr., Alberto, Antonio, Alejandro, Andres and Mari Vivanco, and girlfriend — Yamaira Andrade. He was a beloved son, nephew cousin, friend and brother to many, and is survived by several other family members and friends who loved him.

This young Jedi was rebellious but had a heart of gold. He looked after his fellowship and loved life. He was a Jedi mentor to many of his younger cousins and Padawans, which he adored. He loved playing video games with his family and friends, and loved telling stories. His laugh was contagious and could be heard throughout the galaxy. He loved going to the movies, visiting Santa Cruz, singing, and just hanging out with friends. He attended Marengo Ranch Elementary School, was promoted from McCaffrey Middle School, graduated from Liberty Ranch High School and was attending Cosumnes River College, in which he was studying to be a video game designer. He was very creative and loved working at InN-Out Restaurant, where he would bravely peel potatoes, dice evil onions and serve hungry patrons. The light shined brightly in this young Jedi. He made people smile and gave grey hairs to his Yoda. He loved Coca-Cola, Star Wars, listening to music, drawing and finding the perfect pair of headphones. The force was strong with this young one, and he will be forever remembered by his friends, family and loved ones.

The vigil is on Thursday, December 29, 2016, from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at the Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home (831 Industrial Way in Lodi), and the Rosary is from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in Cherokee’s York Evergreen Chapel.
