DOROTHY MARIE STEGMILLER SUESS

Dorothy Marie Stegmiller Suess, 85, a longtime resident of Lodi, passed away on Saturday, December 24, 2016, in a local hospital. Dorothy was born on April 21, 1931, in Stockton to Louis Frank and Ina (Combs) Stegmiller.

She graduated from Stockton High School. Dorothy worked as a medical office manger. She had a great sense of humor, and was a very smart, loving person. She enjoyed being a homemaker and taking care of her family, cactus plants, canning food, children’s functions, shopping, and her ritual Thursday, “Hair Club” day.

She is survived by her husband, Richard C. Suess; son, Donald Suess; brother, Frank (Carol) Stegmiller; grandchild­ren, Jeannie Granados (Jim Canale), Karen (Bobby) Amin, Donnie (Tonya) Gossett, James Suess, Brian Suess, and Matthew Suess; 10 greatgrand­children; and 2 fur babies, Shorty and Lulu. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Susan Diane Suess-Bellamy, and sister, Louise Wisby.

Friends are invited to visit Tuesday, January 3, from 12:00 noon until 5:00 p.m. and Wednesday, January 4, from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Lodi Funeral Home. A graveside service to celebrate Dorothy’s life will be held on Wednesday, January 4, 2017, at 1:00 p.m. at Lodi Memorial Cemetery. Memorial contributi­ons may be made to the American Cancer Society.
