MICHAEL (MICKEY) MARLING

1928 – 2016

Michael (Mickey) Marling ended his battle with a longterm illness on December 30, 2016. Born in Stockton, California May 20, 1938, Mickey attended Stockton High School and Stockton College. Following graduation he served with the U.S. Air Force in the United States and Japan. He worked for Caltrans for 41 years and made many long-lasting friendship­s while helping with major projects for the Central Valley of California.

In 2011, he was inducted in the Stockton Hall of Fame as a member of the 1955 World Championsh­ip Stockton Reds baseball team.

As an avid golfer, He would take annual golf vacations to Hawaii & Canada with friends until his health prevented it. Mickey was a kind soul much loved by his friends and neighbors who will miss him. He was preceded by his parents Vernon and June Marling and is survived by his brother Timothy Marling (Ana Teresa), nephew Nicholas Marling and cousins Judy Jensen and Gary Ruff. Viewing will be from 11AM-2PM on January 9th at Casa Bonita Mortuary in Stockton, followed by interment at The Rural Cemetery, nearby.
