Chaplin is an approximately 4 month old, neutered male, DMH black and white kitten. Chaplin was rescued by PALS when he was just about eight weeks old, and we were able to place him with one of our foster moms right away. Though he came in all by himself, Chaplin made quick friends with his three new foster sisters, and they soon became thick as thieves.

Chaplin is equal parts rambunctious and affectionate, and he loves to be the center of attention; which is probably why he’s usually the first cat to greet our volunteers and jump in their lap when they go in to socialize with the cats in his room. Chaplin loves to be held, and he’ll nuzzle your cheek as he purrs contentedly. And, when he’s not playfully chasing the other cats in the room or hunting his toys, you can find him curled up in a cute little ball of fur with one of his roommates, keeping warm and cozy. If Chaplin sounds like the perfect kitten for you, please come in and meet him!

For more information about Chaplin, please call PALS at 209-224-0354. We have other cats and dogs available for adoption so stop by the PALS Adoption Center located in Lodi at 1405 W. Kettleman Lane, next to the Lodi Animal Shelter. Center hours are Tuesday to Saturday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., and closed Sunday and Monday. PALS is a Lodi-based, nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the welfare of companion animals in Lodi by increasing the number of animals adopted, reducing animal suffering and providing the highest level of humane care; thus ultimately reducing the number of surplus companion animals euthanized in the city of Lodi. ••• Lobo was found in a cat colony with her siblings, in Stockton. Lobo is almost eight months old now and is a beautiful domestic short hair kitty primarily black with some white patches under her arms, on her chest and a little on her tummy. She loves carrying her felt mice around in her mouth like a dog. She can be independent, but has a sweet affectionate side too and loves to lay in the window. She will come cuddle with her human when she’s feeling snuggly. She’s very curious and will follow you about when you’re doing chores and may even lend a paw. She can be vocal when she wants something or is locked accidentally in a closet. She has been raised with dogs and cats and is indifferent to them, neither seeking their attention nor hissing at them. She lays side by side with dogs once she knows them.

Lobo, like all SCK cats, is indoorsonly and eats a quality food with low or no grain and gets a small amount of canned as a treat each night.

Lobo is spayed, vaccinated, rabies, microchipped, dewormed, deflead and available for adoption through Second Chance Kitty, a local nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to assisting cats, kittens and an

occasional dog, escape a life of abandonment, abuse and neglect. Interested parties may contact the Adoption Coordinator 209-817-3030, via our Facebook page at Second Chance Kitty, or email at 2chancekittys@gmail.com.

••• Jase is an adorable little 3 1 ⁄2 year old terrier/chi mix with beautiful golden eyes. This little guy weighs about 7 pounds and is waiting for a loving, patient home. He and a ring of white fur around his neck. He is a super sweet cuddle bug.

He was found in an orchard with five other dogs — all have been adopted except him, as he is still afraid of people. Jase is a playful little guy, loving, sweet, and loves to snuggle if he trusts you. He loves his treats.

He has been neutered, dewormed, Frontlined, vaccinations are current, and he has been microchipped. Jase is shy, is great with other dogs and would do well with a calm older home. Jase loves to play, rides in the car and will be a great little companion after he has had more one on one socialization. He should have a canine playmate. Jase seems potty trained and is a house dog. Jase would love to be carried around in a puppy pack. If you have the time to foster or adopt this special little boy, please call AFC.

Jase is being offered for adoption through Animal Friends Connection, a Lodi nonprofit organization dedicated to helping companion animals since 1990. For more information about her, call 209-365-0535. To view other dogs and cats available for adoption, visit the sanctuary at 933 S. Cherokee Lane, Lodi, or visit

www.animalfriendsconnect.org or www.facebook.com/animalfriendsconnection. Sanctuary hours are from noon to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on weekends.

Animal Friends Connection is seeking volunteers for the Walk N Wag program, held at 10 a.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. Our volunteer walkers take small dogs on a onemile loop walk around our sanctuary. The dogs love it, and the walkers help keep them happy, healthy and well socialized. If you can’t adopt or foster, this is a great way to participate. Volunteer to make a difference!
