Donald Andrew Meyer passed away at the age of seventy-nine on December 28th, 2016 in Kalispell, Montana. Donald was born June 27th, 1937 in Lodi, California and remained a resident for over sixty years. He and his brother Robert Meyer were sons of Andrew Meyer and Adeline Fowler. During his years at Lodi High School, he was a proud member of the “Throttle Jockeys” car club and was in the graduating class of 1955. In 1956, he married Peggy Ferguson and became a father to his three children, Randy Meyer, Rickey Meyer and Renay Meyer, all also born and raised in Lodi. Soon after getting married, he served in the United States Air Force for two years as a jet engine mechanic and then went on to become a truck driver for Stokely Van Camp for over twenty years. After retiring from truck driving, he started a constructi­on company and remained a contractor in Lodi and neighborin­g areas for another twenty years. In 1969, he began his twenty-two-year marriage to Linda Arney who had two children, Jon and Georgia Glaser. Donald was well known by his family and large circle of friends for his incredible intellect and ingenuity. Throughout his life, he enjoyed many weekends camping, fishing and racing dirt bikes with his children and the “Timberwolv­es” dirt bike club.

Donald is preceded in death by his son, Rickey Meyer, who died as a result of a car accident on October 1st, 1978 at the age of 18. He is survived by his children, Renay Horricks and her husband Peter Horricks, Randy Meyer and his wife Margaret Meyer; and grandchild­ren, Brianna Horricks, Taylor Horricks, Jeffrey Meyer and Jamie Meyer. He is also survived by his son Jon Glaser, stepdaught­er Georgia Adler, brother Robert Meyer, three nieces and two nephews. Donald’s interment will be held at Cherokee Memorial Park in a private ceremony.
