JEAN WILLIS

1926 – 2017

Surrounded by her family, as well as friend, Colleen Ianni, “Jean” Willis, of Lodi, CA, died on January 10, 2017, at Vienna Nursing Hospital. She was 90 years old.

Jean will be missed by her daughter, Susan (Tim) Kanold of Lodi, CA; granddaughter, Anna Bedo of Chicago, Illinois; Tim and Jessica McIntyre of Barrington, Illinois; and, Adam and Jaclyn Kanold of Santa Barbara, CA. Preceding her passing were her husband, Ray Willis; son, Gary Willis; parents, Vernon and Neva Danals; brother, Robert Danals (Esther); and, sister, Naoma Funk (Harold).

Born on December 15th, 1926, in Mansfield, Ohio, Jean attended public school in Wadsworth, Ohio, graduating in 1944. Following the end of World War II, she married her high school sweetheart, Ray. The pair moved to Lodi, CA in 1963 where they raised their family, and Jean worked as a library aide for the Lodi school district for 20 years. Her family remembers her as a private, feisty, graceful lady, whom fiercely loved her family and friends, books, and laughter.

She was an active member of Grace Presbyterian Church, volunteer for Hospice of San Joaquin, and past volunteer at Lodi Memorial Hospital. The family would like to extend its extreme gratitude to friend, Colleen Ianni, the Rehab and Nursing Staff at Vienna, her niece Kay (Don); as well as her many friends.

Funeral arrangements will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hospice of San Joaquin, 3888 Pacific Avenue, Stockton, CA 95204.
