EDITH LEONA NEUHARTH

1930 – 2017

Edith Leona Neuharth, age 86, died on January 10, 2017, in Lodi, CA, following a short illness. Edith was born March 24, 1930, in Coalinga, CA, to Ralph H. and Gwendolyn Esmedelle Brown. Edith graduated from Lodi High School in 1947 and married Richard Neuharth in June 1947. Edith volunteered her time and talents to many organizations including PTA, and a literacy program where she taught adults to read. Edith is survived by three children, Dan Neuharth of Columbia, MO, Kurt Neuharth of Lodi and Jean Held of Hermann, MO, and daughterin-law Kelli Neuharth of Vallejo; two grandchildren, Susan Kramer (Dwane), of Lodi, and Karl Neuharth, of Vallejo; and three greatgrandchildren, Tayler, Kody, and Jakob Kramer, all of Lodi; brother Bud Brown; many nieces and nephews; and dear friend Beverly Updegraff. Edith is preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Richard; a grandson, James Held; her parents; sisters Betty Pokert, Peggy Brown, Henrietta Bell, Ruby Mize and brother Bill Brown. A memorial service will be held on January 20, 2017 at 1 p.m. at Cherokee Memorial
