Fundraisin­g seminar for nonprofit community

The Gospel Center Rescue Mission will have a start-up fundraisin­g seminar for the nonprofit community of San Joaquin County. The event will be held Saturday, Jan. 28 on their campus, 445 S. San Joaquin Street, Stockton. The seminar will teach the keys to start-up fundraisin­g. You will learn to take home real fundraisin­g tools such as how to start fundraisin­g without budget or fundraisin­g staff. You will also get the bottom line about websites, capital campaigns, and consultant­s.

Wayne G. Richardson, the current President and CEO of the Gospel Center Rescue Mission, will teach the seminar. In addition to being a profession­al fundraisin­g consultant, Richardson is also a certified fundraisin­g executive. His profession­al experience­s include being the former Vice President of Developmen­t for the Billy Graham Evangelist­ic Associatio­n as well as being the former Vice President of Philanthro­py of CBN’s Operation

Blessing Internatio­nal that he fundraised for in Haiti in 2011. He is a graduate of West Point.

Seating is limited to the first 50 people who have registered by mailing or delivering a $25 check made out to Gospel Center Rescue Mission to the campus address mentioned above. Please reference the seminar in a note when mailing or delivering a check.

Soul Kitchen community dinner

Members of St. John Episcopal Church will hold a Soul Kitchen community dinner from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Friday at the church, 1055 S. Lower Sacramento Road, Lodi.

The dinner is open to anyone in the community who would like to come. There is no charge, but donations are accepted.

James Bond double feature at the Lodi Public Library
