Computer classes at the Lodi Public Library

The Lodi Public Library will hold the following computer classes:

• Microsoft Word:

Participan­ts will learn how to create and edit many types of Word documents. Basic computer skills are recommende­d.

• Microsoft Excel:

Participan­ts will learn how to create and use Excel spreadshee­ts and charts. Basic computer skills are recommende­d.

• Find It On The Internet: Participan­ts will learn resources and techniques for finding anything on the internet. Basic computer skills are recommende­d.

All classes are free and require advance registrati­on. They will be held in the library’s Computer Learning Center, 201 W. Locust St., Lodi.

Delta Fly Fishers meeting

The Delta Fly Fishers’ guest speaker on Feb. 8 will be Rick Desrosiers of the Trout Spot Fly Shop in Arnold.

His presentati­on will focus on his five favorite trout streams in Montana.

The meeting will be held at John R. Williams School, 2450 Meadow Ave., Stockton. Pre-meeting activities will start at 6:30 p.m., with the general meeting beginning at 7 p.m.

Free genealogy help at the Chavez Central Library

The San Joaquin County Genealogic­al Society will provide volunteers to help research your ancestry free of charge on the first and last Tuesday of the month from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the second floor of the Cesar Chavez Central Library, 605 N. Newcomer’s Valentine luncheon

The Newcomer’s Club’s February Valentine luncheon will be held Feb. 9 at the Elks Lodge at 19671 North Lower Sacramento Road in Woodbridge. Choices for lunch are chicken caciatore or pork tenderloin.

The social will begin at 11 a.m., the meeting will start at 11:30 a.m. and lunch will be served at 11:45 a.m.
