Reader celebrating President Trump’s order on federal regulations
Editor: Once in a blue moon I will read an article that gets me so excited. I get giddy and can hardly wait to tell everyone. That happened when I spotted a tiny article buried on the last page of the paper. Since not everyone makes it to the last page, I truly feel it qualifies repeating.
President Donald Trump signed an executive order Monday designed to fulfill his campaign pledge to reduce red tape for businesses. The two-page order requires that when a federal agency proposes new regulations, “it shall identify at least two existing regulations to be repealed.”
Bravo! As a business owner, I applaud this logical thinking.
Can you imagine the time and money this will save a proprietor and a consumer?

A positive spin on 2017
Editor: I hope 2017 brings good news for the world and the people of the USA, too. The majority of the people of the USA have positive views about 2017 and later on, too.
We all are fully aware that the USA is not inherited to anyone. This land is the land of Immigrants. People came to this land and worked hard to build it. With blessings of Almighty God, now we are the richest and strongest nation on this planet.
We have people of different cultures, language, nationalities and religious beliefs. We have to respect each and share with their events. Their cooperation will help their own community and the USA.
Right now, I am writing about Muslim and Sikh communities around the world and the USA. Sikhs are very cooperative and very hardworking. I am really very impressed with their positive attitude. I believe if Muslim and Sikh leaders sit together, they can achieve their objectives very quick and especially Kashmir and Khalistan. It would be in the interest of the country and their communities.
I request to the Lodi Muslim and Sikh leaders to think and come forward. This will help them, the city and Lodi’s city government, too.

Looking for local heroes
Editor: The term “hero” tends to be overused these days, but there are truly unsung, everyday heroes among us — those who put personal considerations aside to help someone else.
In March, the American Red Cross will honor those in San Joaquin County who have shown courage, dedication and character through extraordinary acts of heroism and kindness. Where do these moving stories of courage, and hope come from? Well, from people like us, who take the time to nominate someone we know who deserves recognition.
Nominations are being collected now; deadline is Feb. 15. Those selected will be honored guests at “100 Years of Heroes,” celebrating both local heroes and the centennial anniversary of the Gold Country Region of the American Red Cross. The nomination form may be found on- line at www.redcross.org/goldcountry.
