For the second time this season, the Galt and Liberty Ranch boys soccer teams tied in Sierra Valley Conference play at 1-1.

Both teams scored in the second half, starting with a Davian Marquez unassisted goal for Galt at about the 55th minute on a through ball that got behind the Liberty Ranch defense. The Hawks’ equalizer came with about 15 minutes remaining from Leo Soto, unassisted off a ricochet from the top of the box.

“They were extremely frantic,” Liberty Ranch coach Andrew Fisher said. “And because it was a rivalry game, the crowd was huge and very partisan. It was a lot of fun.”

Liberty Ranch had several chances in the box over the closing minutes after Galt dominated possession most of the game, but Warriors goalkeeper Maico Ortiz, who finished with seven saves, kept the ball out. Liberty Ranch’s Edwin Cisneros finished with 10 saves.
