Two months shy of April Fools Day, which would have been his 95th birthday, William Reynolds passed away on January 21, 2017.

He was a true “Native Son of the Golden West”. Lodi born and raised, graduated from Lodi High in 1940. He was affectiona­tely known as “the Colonel” having spent 30 years in the military as a Pilot, flying in three wars. Too young to remain retired he went to work for San Joaquin County Assessors Office for fifteen years. Still having more to give he returned to his farming roots and grew Merlot on his 50 acre ranch from which he never retired.

He attended UC Davis, Stanford and received his MBA from UND while stationed as a ground breaking Minuteman Missile Crew Wing Launch Officer at Minot, North Dakota. He remained a life long student taking on subjects of interest with passion and focus from the stock market to farming and politics. He loved golfing with his friends at Wood Bridge Country Club having lunch at Odd Fellows and traveling with his wife, Gracie and friends. He balanced work and leisure living a fully rich and productive life for 94 years.

Bill is survived by his wife of 73 years, Gracie Zimmerman Reynolds, sister LaVerle Brown, children, Bill (Kathi) Reynolds, Judy (Ed) Hallisey, Toni (Terry) Reynolds Mayer, two grandchild­ren Stacy Jagusch Stokes (Portland, OR), Nikki Jagusch Arnold (Jason) (Bend, OR), four greatgrand­children, Hanna and Jake Stokes, Natalie and Alec Arnold, five step grandchild­ren, Lori Hallisey Hrovat, Michelle Hallisey Jackson, Brian and Barry Kirby and Kyle Mayer plus numerous step greatgrand­children.

He was preceded in death by brothers Glen and Robert, (Rocky), Reynolds.

Services will be held on Saturday, February 11, at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 1845 South Ham Ln, Lodi at 1:30. Celebratio­n of Life to follow service.

Arrangemen­ts made by Donahue Funeral Home. Donations may be made to Hospice of San Joaquin or charity of choice.
