Both parties need to work together for the good of the country

Editor: The election is over and we have to go back to work, but it didn’t happen and both party politicians jumped into the battleground.

It is time to work together. Our politicians are trying to ruin peace, the country and people’s lives. They are not worried with what’s going on. They get their check every month.

President Bush engaged us with two wars to keep his presidency and we lost over 3,000 men and women and millions of dollars.

When President Obama came, Republicans did not let him work.

Now the Democrats are using the same techniques. As I said earlier, politicians get their check regularly, but we are suffering and paying the price of their dirty game.

It is time for both parties to sit together and forget their differences and solve the problems. Emotional speeches and blaming each other is creating hate among people. People around the world before the last election respected us, but now what do they think about us?

We have to think and respect each other and solve the problems. I also request the people of higher and lower class to think before writing and talking.

God bless the USA. MUSHTAQ A. TAHIRKHELI Lodi

The president can’t work alone

Editor: In regards to the executive order banning refugees, the problem isn’t Trump’s executive order, but on the way he did it.

He conferred with no one in Congress, nor any cabinet member, before signing this executive order. This executive order has had a major affect on this country, and on world opinion.

Wouldn’t it have made more sense to have had someone in his corner before signing this executive order? I don’t believe our founding fathers envisioned the president becoming an absolute ruler. JOHN SLAUGHTERBACK Lodi

Corruption in Trump’s administration

Editor: President Donald Trump’s administration employs more liars than a Swiss cheese has holes. The top guy is founder of the Liars’ Club. Sadly, one of his cohorts has been discovered in an untruth too embarrassing to cover up. Now he’s out.

According to a Feb. 14 Associated Press report by Julie Page, Eric Tucker and Jill Colvan, the White House crew was trimmed after one of the nation’s most important officials’ falsehoods were exposed:

“President Donald Trump’s embattled national security adviser Michael Flynn resigned following reports he misled Vice President Mike Pence and other officials about his contacts with Russia. His departure upends Trump’s senior team after less than a month in office.

“In a resignation letter, Flynn said he gave Vice President Mike Pence and others ‘incomplete information’ about his calls with Russia’s ambassador to the U.S.”

Under other circumstances, Flynn might be accused of treason. Russia is not a friend of the United States. Vladimir Putin’s minions interfered with the 2016 election, Russkie forces are killing women and children supporting Syria’s dictator, and Putin’s spies were sent home after their meddling was exposed.

If Flynn is later discovered to have taken Russian money, he will be at risk of prosecution. Corruption is endemic in the Trump regime. The White House has become a retail store for dirt. So it’s a tad surprising Flynn became the poster boy for a hypocritical attempt put forward an image of honest behavior. Perhaps the President is sending a message to the rest of the boardroom boodlers he’s named to high offices: “Don’t get caught.” LANGE WINCKLER Lodi
