A perfect ending for the Elliot Christian High boys basketball team.

Entertaing Stone Ridge Christian in a Central California Athletic Allianace on Tuesday, the Eagles soared to a 98-30 win over the Knights. That victory helps Elliot overthrow Brookside Christian, which had won the CCAA title for the last five seasons. Elliot is 14-0 in the CCAA and 23-4.

“The boys did a great job this year,” said Elliot coach Jason Hitt. “It was good for the boys to get the monkey off their backs.”

Elliot jumped out to a 32-4 first quarter lead, and expanded it to 55-15 at halftime.

The Eagles had five players scoring in double figures against the Knights. Leading the way was guard Jimmy Beltz with 22 points, including six 3-pointers. Jalen Valverde and Giovanni Bulleri had 17 points each, Nate Bond 15 and Amari Jacobs 13. Onkar Sidhu had nine points and 11 assists and Cody Doell two points. Valverde also had eight assists and eight rebounds. The Eagles made 20 treys in the game.
