Flames’ bats take down East Union

The Flames racked up 18 hits and Trevor Shuman pitched four innings in Friday’s 170 victory over East Union.

Evan Webb had threes across the board — 3-for-3 with three doubles, three RBIs and three runs — while Robby Loiacono went 3for-3 with a double and four runs.

Bobby Yabumoto went 2-for-3 with two doubles and three RBIs, Alejandro Avilla went 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBIs, Ben Prentiss was 2-for-3 with two doubles and two runs, Alejandro Estrada was 2-for-3 with a double and three RBIs and Jacob Jordan was 2-for-3 with three runs. Additional hits came from Donovan Evans and Chad Plath.

Jaden Swanson went 4-for-4 with a triple, two RBIs and two runs as the Tigers defeated Argonaut 11-3 in a non-league game Saturday.

Ryan Lew went 2-for-4 with two doubles, three RBIs and two runs, Dylan Mahurin had a double and three RBIs, Cory Glasgow had a double and a run, as did Hugo Velasquez, and singles were hit by Joseph Heryford, Collin Drummond, Jaime Quesada, Victor Munoz and Victor Nateras. Frosh-soph

Ante Andrews and Jason Myers combined to pitch a one-hitter for Lodi (1-1) in Friday’s non-league home game.

At the plate, the Flames had four hits. Two off the bat of Ian Watanabe, who also had an RBI and scored a run. Logan Stout also doubled and had two RBIs, and Trent Louiz had a double and scored.

Devin Olsen led the Tigers with two singles and an RBI, while Johnny Tregerous, Alberto Magallanes, David Fuentes and Kolton Fernandes also singled in Saturday’s loss.

Mia Misasi went 2-for-4 with a double, Keala Brown homered and Aliah Cisneros drove in two runs in Friday’s win.

Arianna Lozano pitched a complete game, striking out 11 while allowing two runs (one earned). With singles for the Tigers were Sydney Giovannoni, Simone Medeiros and Brooke Graddy.

Danielle Pfennig scattered seven hits while striking out three in Friday’s complete-game effort as the Flames improved to 2-0.

Megan Gonzalez had a triple and two singles, Samantha Amarante had a double and two singles, Ashley Toy and Kylie Mazza had two singles each, while Bailey Correia, Rylie Brooks and Harley Litton each had one single.

Rachael Atkins led the Hawks to an emphatic five-inning victory on Friday, going 5for-6 with two doubles, four RBIs and four runs.

She was far from the only Hawk with a hot bat — Lexi Davis was 4-for-4 with two doubles, four RBIs and four runs, Haley Ward was 3-for-4 with a double, four RBIs and four runs, Lexi Cheever was 3-for-4 with two RBIs and three runs, Jordyn Farren was 3-for-5 with a double, two RBIs and two runs, Yvonne Vega and Audrey Brookins each went 2-for-2 with a double for Vega, Celina Maberto had a single and two RBIs, Emilee Mort had a single, two RBIs and three runs, and Astril Najar-Meza had a single and two runs.

Vega got the win in the circle with four innings pitched, allowing two runs while striking out five.
