Victoria Schallberger
High school: Tokay Sport: Basketball College: Talladega Schallberger, a senior guard, finished with four rebounds as the Tornadoes defeated Xavier-La. 59-42 for the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference title. She had two rebounds in a semifinal win over Tougaloo.
Will Lydon
High school: Tokay Sport: Baseball College: University of the Pacific Lydon, a senior right-handed starter, took his first loss of the season in an 11-2 loss to Penn State. Lydon (2-1) went six inning, striking out six while allowing eight runs (seven earned) on nine hits.
Alex Dentoni
High school: Tokay Sport: Baseball College: Sacramento State Dentoni, a redshirt sophomore righthander, pitched two innings of relief in a 4-0 loss to No. 11 Washington, allowing two runs on three hits.
Matt Richardson
High school: Tokay Sport: Baseball College: Hawaii Richardson, a junior right-handed pitcher, pitched one scoreless inning of relief in an 11-2 win over Minnesota on Thursday.
Bryce Graddy
High school: Tokay Sport: Baseball College: Cal Poly-Pomona Graddy, a junior shortstop, had a single in each of the Mustangs’ four games of a series against Cal State San Bernardino — a 6-2 win on Thursday, a 3-0 loss on Friday, then a 7-3 win and a 3-2 in a doubleheader on Saturday. He added an RBI and a run in the first Saturday game.
Addison Gallagher
High school: Tokay Sport: Golf College: Delta Gallagher, a sophomore, had four birdies on his way to the low score of the day, a 74, in the Big 8 Conference tournament on Wednesday at the Reserve at Spanos Park.
Jessica Hartwell
High school: Liberty Ranch Sport: Softball
College: Texas Tech Hartwell had a busy week, going 2for-3 with a double and two RBIs in an 8-0 win over UTEP, 3-for-4 with a double and three RBIs in a 10-7 loss to Wichita State, hitting a single with two stolen bases and three runs in a 12-4 win over UTEP, and finishing with a 2for-3 day with four RBIs and a run in a 12-11 loss to North Texas.
Ali Medina
High school: Liberty Ranch Sport: Softball College: William Jessup Medina had a good day on Friday in a doubleheader against San Diego Christian, going 2-for-3 with a double and two runs in a 6-5 loss and 2-for-3 with a run in a 5-0 win. On Saturday, she had a single, a walk and a run in a 4-1 loss to Hope International.
Britany Heinle
High school: Tokay Sport: Softball College: Vanguard University Heinle, a junior infielder, had a walk and a run in a win over Arizona Christian on Friday, then had a single and an RBI in a win over Antelope Valley on Saturday.
Allie Mendez
High school: Lodi Sport: Softball College: Corban University Mendez improved to 6-1 in the circle with wins over British Columbia on Saturday and Sunday, going five innings in each game. She struck out five on Saturday and nine on Sunday. At the plate, she had a two-run home run in Sunday’s win.
Taylor Brooks
High school: Lodi Sport: Water polo College: Sonoma State Brooks, a sophomore, scored a goal in a 13-12 loss to Whittier on Saturday.
Adam Gotelli
High school: Elliot Sport: Basketball College: North Idaho Gotelli, a redshirt freshman guard, had three points and a rebound as NIC finished the regular season with a 108-101 loss to Wenatchee Valley. The Cardinals still won the NWAC’s East Region at 25-4 and 13-3. Up next is the NWAC Tournament starting
today.
Brett Young
High school: Lodi Sport: Baseball College: Delta Young, a sophomore outfielder, went 2-for-3 with a run in a 16-1 win over Diablo Valley, then had a single in an 11-0 win over American River on Tuesday.
Alex Patterson
High school: St. Mary’s Sport: Baseball College: Delta Patterson improved to 6-0 on the season with eight shutout innings in Delta’s win over American River on Tuesday, scattering three hits while striking out four.
Lauren Garoutte
High school: Tokay Sport: Softball College: Delta Garoutte, a sophomore outfielder, reached base in all four of Delta’s games in the past week, with a single in a loss to San Mateo, a double, RBI and run in a loss to Cosumnes River, a 2-for-3 day with a home run, tw RBIs and two runs in a win over Cosumnes River and a walk, two RBIs and a run in a win over Diablo Valley.
Taelor Ford
High school: Tokay Sport: Softball College: Cosumnes River Ford, a freshman third baseman, had a hit in each of four games: a single, two walks, an RBI and two runs in a win over Lassen, a single, RBI and a run in another win over Lassen, a single and RBI in a win over Delta and 2-for-4 with an RBI in another win over Delta.
Baylee Hirtel
High school: Galt Sport: Softball College: Cosumnes RIver Hirtel, a freshman utility player, went 3-for-4 with three doubles, two RBIs and three runs, then 3-for-4 with two RBIs and a run in doubleheader wins over Lassen, then was 2-for-3 with an RBI and two runs in a win over Delta.
Veronica Smith
High school: Tokay Sport: Softball College: Cosumnes River Smith, a freshmen second baseman, had a double with an RBI and two runs, then a single and RBI in the Lassen doubleheader, then went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run then had a single and a run in the Delta doubleheader.
Brittany Baroni
High school: Liberty Ranch Sport: Softball College: Cosumnes River Baroni, a freshman pitcher, gave up six runs in 5 1/3 innings with seven strikeouts in an 11-6 win over Delta.
