Hawks lose tough one to D-backs

On Thursday, The Liberty Ranch High boys golf team lost a tough Sierra Valley Conference match to defending champion Union Mine.

The final score for Liberty Ranch (2-1 in the SVC) was 223257 at the Cameron Park Country Club in Cameron Park, par 36. Low scorers for the Hawks were Adam Lopes 41, followed by Nate Mancebo at 49, Garrett McElroy 53, Trent Azevedo 56, Kody Lunde 58 and Jaycob Rocha 67.

CORRECTIONS • In the Local Scene story on page 11 of Friday’s edition of the News-Sentinel, the wrong softball team was attributed with a win in the headline. Lodi defeated West 6-4 on Thursday afternoon.

• In the high school softball preview on Page 9 of Friday’s edition, a few Elliot Christian players were not mention: catcher Madi Sepp and shortstop Lexi Juelch, both juniors and both team captains.
