Lodi golfers get first league win, go to 7-0

Lodi High’s boys golf team opened Tri-City Athletic League play with a 199-254 win over Tracy at the par-37 Woodbridge Golf and County Club’s Lake Course.

Justin Gums led the Flames with a 3-under 34 as Lodi improved to 7-0 in dual matches. Tyler Rowlands shot a 38, Jack LeBaron had a 39, Dean Ky shot a 43 and Evan Seibly carded a 45.

The win set up an early showdown with league title implicatio­ns against Lincoln, with will take place on Thursday at Lincoln’s home course.

SOFTBALL

Keala Brown had a home run and two RBIs, but the Tigers were ultimately outgunned in a TCAL game on Monday.

Simone Medeiros went 2-for-3 with a double, Mia Misasi had a single and an RBI, and Aliah Cisneros had a single and a run.

SWIMMING

The Hawks’ varsity girls won 119-38 and the boys won 109-55 in an event that saw Liberty Ranch on top in every event on Thursday.

For the girls, Morgan Beeson won the 200yard freestyle at 2:16.86 and the 100 freestyle at 1:00.83, Maddie Ledbetter won the 200 individual medley at 2:46.10 and the 100 butterfly at 1:16.95, Natasha Behrman won the 50 freestyle at 31.01, Jasmine Rodriguez won the 500 freestyle at 6:33.77, Rachel Miller won the 100 backstroke at 1:18.13 and Christiana Martines won the 100 breaststro­ke at 1:24.76.

For the boys, Joseph Lopez won the 200 freestyle at 2:04.95 and the 100 backstroke at 1:04.57 (a section-qualifying time), Gavin Weaver won the 200 individual medley at 2:37.31, Evan Silvey won the 50 freestyle at 25.08 and the 100 freestyle at 57.39, Ivan Madrigal won the 100 butterfly at 1:17.4 and the 500 freestyle at 6:42.36 and Andrew Behrman won the 100 breaststro­ke at 1:17.8.
