Figueroa tosses no-hitter in Eagles’ win over Stone Ridge Christian

Nick Figueroa was untouchabl­e for the Elliot Christian High baseball team on Wednesday.

The senior pitcher threw a no-hitter for the Eagles, who beat Stone Ridge Christian 10-0 in a Central California Athletic Alliance game at Zupo Field. He struck out 12 batters and walked none.

At the plate, Figueroa, who was a part of the school’s boys basketball team that went 29-5 and one game shy of playing for the CIF State Division V title, went 2-for-3 with a single and double. The leadoff hitter also had four stolen bases for Elliot (1-0 in the CCAA, 2-0), plus an RBI and scored three times.

Other hitters behind Figueroa was Tyler Schrader, Robert Dutcher, Cody Doell and Nate Bond had a hit each. Elliot also took advantage of six hits, plus eight walks.

In a Sierra Valley Conference and cross-town meeting, Liberty Ranch (4-0 in the SVC, 8-2) knocked off Galt 6-4 at the Warriors’ field. Galt is 0-5 in the SVC, 3-7. Varsity SOFTBALL

Kayla Rocha and Rachael Atkins had two hits each for Liberty Ranch (4-0 in the SVC, 10-1-1) in Tuesday’s cross-town and SVC rivarly game at the Galt Sports Complex. Atkins added four RBIs to her offensive output.

The Hawks also got hits from Audrey Brookins and Jordyn Farren. Kharizma Lathipanya­Kham had two stolen bases.

In the circle, Celina Maberto gave up six hits and allowed four walks to Galt (1-3 in the SVC, 5-3).

The Eagles had 12 hits in Wednesday’s CCAA game. But Millennium had 17 hits, plus took advantage of some Elliot errors for the win.

Annabelle Sepp was the leading hitter for Elliot (1-2 in the CCAA, 5-3-1), going 3-for-4. Charis Guerzo and Madi Sepp went 2-for-4 with an RBI each. Five Eagle players had a base hit each; Tabitha Lang, Tayton McCortsin, Sophia Butler, Sara Burns and Grace Robles. Frosh-soph

For Tokay (1-2 in the TCAL), all nine starters had at least one hit, with Madelyn Evans hitting three singles and Kayly Pau hitting two with three RBIs and a play where she stole home from third base.

Megan Walker, Katherin Jackson, Madison Hughes, Leyla Ayala and Lily Cadena all had two hits, while Belen Espinoza and Sydney Stewart singled once each. Jackson pitched the complete game.

Adam Lopes led the Hawks with a 3-over 39 at Lockeford Springs Golf Course on Tuesday, followed by Garrett McElroy at 43, Kody Lunde at 50, Jaycob Rocha at 53, Nate Mancebo at 54 and Trent Azevedo at 56.
