RUSSELL ANTHONY BATTAGLIA

Passed away peacefully on April 7, 2017 at the age of 86. Russell was a long time resident of Lodi where he attended St. Anne’s School, Lodi High School and San Joaquin Delta College. Russell served in the Army from 1958-1962 and also in the National Guard. He was a member and past president of the Lodi Lions Club. You could often find him at area rest homes playing bingo with the residents and working the Pitch to Win booth with the Lions club at the Lodi Grape Festival. He loved the game of golf and was a member of the Woodbridge Golf and Country Club.

Russell is survived by his daughters, Sarah Popuch (John) of Lodi and Evelyn Koppi (Timothy) of Bakersfiel­d. His sister Josephine Parsons and Gloria Cancilla (Anthony). His brother Peter Battaglia (Diane). His grandchild­ren, Tiffany Piuser, Lauren Sawyer, Timmy Koppi, Cassandra Collup, Kristi Van Fleet, Tobin Anthony Escobedo, Nicole Popuch, and Tanner Escobedo. His great grandchild­ren, Colbie, Macen, Scarlett, Lucas and Abigail. Preceded in death by his loving wife Beverly Ann (Oberlander), his son Russell Anthony Battaglia in 1963 , his sister and brotherin-law Rose Marie and George Gunn, and his brother and sister-in-law, Dominic and Ann Battaglia.

Funeral arrangemen­ts by The Lodi Funeral Home, 725 South Fairmont Dr. in Lodi. FD 627 Private services have been held.
