West edges Lodi in softball

The Lodi High softball team fell to 2-5 in league play with Monday’s 1-0 loss at West, which saw the deciding run score on an error. Lodi had a runner on third with one out in the seventh, but couldn’t bring her home.

Harlie Litton had a double for Lodi, along with singles from Shelby Feathersto­n, Ashley Toy, Bailey Correia and Meagan Gonzalez.

Arianna Lozano accounted for all three of Tokay’s runs with a home run on Monday, to go along with a 2-for-3 day from Brooke Graddy and singles from Simone Medeiros, Jasmine Marquez, Mia Misasi, Keala Brown and Bryanna Bernal. Frosh-soph

Haley Price led the Flames’ hit-fest on Monday by going 5-for-6 with three triples, a double, five RBIs and three runs. Madison Faul went 3-for-4 with three runs, Kiara Baker was 2-for-5 with a triple, two RBIs and three runs, Brook Lewis was 2-for-5 with a double and three RBIs, Britni Machen went 2for-5, Gianna Guidi went 2-for-5 with two RBIs, Jocelyn Moya went 3-for-5 with a double, McKenzie Evans went 2-for-5 and Diana Huerta went 3-for-5. Moya pitched a complete game with six hits, two earned runs and four strikeouts.

Twins Emily and Megan Walker combined for five strikeouts while allowing 10 hits in Monday’s loss. At the plate, Kayly Pau went 3for-3, Megan Walker was 2-for-4 with two doubles and Sydney Stewart had a single.

Varsity

Nick Figueroa had two singles and Nate Bond had one, but the Eagles weren’t able to get much going on Monday.

Four pitchers — Figueroa, Bond, Tyler Schrader and Robert Dutcher — combined for seven strikeouts for the Eagles (5-2, 3-2 CCAA).

The Tigers fell in Monday’s track meet, finishing a contest that began Thursday before a rain storm washed it out. Tokay took the long-distance events, with Aldo Perez winning the 1,600 at 4:46 and Andres Sandoval winning the 3,200 at 10:35, while Joshua Moore won the triple jump at 39 feet, 11 inches and Aidan Green won the high jump at 5-8. The Tokay girls didn’t fare any better on Monday, with wins only in the field events. Jordan Nance won the discus at 90-0.5, Anessa Spradley won the shot put at 30-1, Natalie Adams won the triple jump at 28-10 and Carly Hunter won the high jump at 4-6. Frosh-soph boys

The Tigers prevailed with the help of twoevent winners Alek Frankovich (winning the 1,600 at 4:56 and the 3,200 at 11:35) and Sebastian Branco (winning the triple jump at 35-3 and the high jump at 5-4). Frosh-soph girls

The Tigers won with the help of doublewinn­er Madison Hayles, who won the discus at 72-4 and the shot put at 23-5.

TENNIS

The Flames improved to 1-1 in the TCAL with their victory last Wednesday, helped by wins by forfeit in all three doubles matches. In singles, Lodi’s Reid Maley defeated Kyle Koontz 6-2, 6-2, Roman Huerta defeated West’s Marcellus Rice 6-2, 6-1 and Lodi’s Owen Streyle beat Brandon Doan 6-1, 6-4.
