Lozano goes the distance for the Tigers
The Tokay High softball team edged West 3-1 on Wednesday for its second TriCity Athletie League win, improving to 2-6 and 9-9 overall.
Keala Brown went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run for the Tigers, while Sydney Giovannoni and Arianna Lozano each doubled and drove in one.
In the circle, Lozano pitched a complete game, striking out five while scattering six hits to allow one run.

Kayly Pau had a solo home run and a pair of singles in Wednesday’s win, along with a triple, single and two RBIs from Katherine Jackson, a double and a single from Madison Hughes, a double and a single from Belen Espinosa, two singles from Emily Walker and singles from Jasmine Marin and Lily Cadena.

The Eagles fell to 3-3 in the Central California Athletic Alliance and 5-3 overall despite outhitting Big Valley 7-4. Tyler Schrader went 2-for-3 with a triple, Nate Bond went 2-for-3 and Nick Figueroa had a triple, along with 10 strikeouts in a complete-game effort on the mound. He allowed four hits, walked two and hit two batters.
Pitman 14, Tokay 4
Hugo Velazquez went 3-for-3 with a triple and three RBIs, and Ryan Lew also tripled, but it wasn’t enough as the Tigers fell in a non-league game in Turlock. Diego Ramirez went 2-for-3 for the remainder of Tokay’s hits.

James Haynes and Zane Patton each went 2-for-4 in Wednesday’s loss. Colby Baker had a double, and the Tigers got singles from Kyle Shannon, Harrison Blevins and Nolan O’Donnell. Blevins, Joey Del Barba, Baker and Shannon pitched for Tokay.

Lodi had one win by forfeit (the Rams don’t have a third doubles team) and the team of Owen Streyle /Bradon Clayworth won the No. 1 doubles match. The No. 2 doubles team of JP Brunskill/David Cribb took St. Mary’s Michael Montijo/Sean Keough to a third set tiebreaker before falling at Woodbridge Golf and Country Club.
