PAMELA BECKETT SCOTT

-

April 17, 1948 – April 7, 2017

Long-time Lodi resident Pamela was born in Oakland, California to John Beckett and Suzanne Roeth Beckett. She is survived by her brother John “Buzz” Beckett, her ex-husband Gary Scott, their two children Sarah (Mike) Mares and Tom (Kimberly) Scott and two grandchildren, Oliver and Sullivan Scott.

A native Californian, Pam grew up in Orinda California and graduated from University of the Pacific in 1970 with a degree in physical education and a minor in biology. At UOP she was a song leader and a Delta Gamma sorority sister. On campus, she was well-known for her black limousine with tiger-striped seats that the song leader squad would cruise around in.

Pam enjoyed teaching PE in the Lodi Unified School District for more than 25 years. After retiring she taught yoga at Now & Zen Yoga Studio - her joy and passion. Her creative abilities were expressed through floral arranging and her gardens. But her greatest joy was quality time with her family and many, many friends. Two of her other favorite pastimes were traveling and camping with loved ones.

Ralph Waldo Emerson said, “It’s a happy talent to know how to play.” Pam Scott possessed that happy talent and shared it generously.

Memorial services will be held Sunday, April 30, 2017, 11:00 AM - 3 PM, at Bare Ranch, 19877 N. Davis Rd. Lodi CA 95242. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to Hospice of San Joaquin in gratitude for their compassionate support.
