Tokay wins to open Oakdale Tournament

Cory Glasgow went 2-for-4 with a double and drove in three runs to help the Tokay baseball team defeat Escalon 7-4 at the Oakdale Tournament on Monday.

Jaime Quesada added a double and two RBIs, while Luis Ramirez went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs. Joseph Heryford and Hugo Velazquez each went 2-for-4, and Victor Munoz doubled and scored twice.

On the mound, Victor Nateras pitched four innings of two-hit ball, striking out three batters. Max Blevins pitched two innings and Jack Gobel one, allowing two runs each.

Also at the Oakdale Tournament, Lodi started things off with a 4-0 loss to Gregori.

Elliot allowed just two hits, but a slew of errors, hit batsmen and other miscues gave the school from Alameda all three runs in the first inning.

Nick Figueroa took the loss, allowing two hits and three runs in the four innings while striking out five, while Robert Dutcher finished with two hitless innings. Dutcher, Tyler Schrader, Joshua Alejandre and Alexander Pinasco each singled for the Eagles (7-4).

SWIMMING

The Flames improved to 4-0 on Thursday behind double-winners Sam Griffith in the 200 freestyle and 500 freestyle, Aidan Scott in the 200 individual medley and 100 backstroke and Nick Wikert in the 50 freestyle and 100 freestyle. Ben McDonald added a win in the 100 butterfly, and Lodi won the 200- and 400-freestyle relays.

The Flames swept the relays to improve to 3-1 in TCAL duals, with double-winner Gianni Pitto in the 200 individual medley and 100 breaststro­ke. Courtney Scott won the 200 freestyle, Madeline Woznick won the 50 freestyle, Olivia Grim won the 100 freestyle and Piper Ransome won the 500 freestyle.

In diving, Madison Liu placed second, Liv Wortman fifth and Audrey Vinquier sixth.

The Flames improved to 5-0 with doublewinn­ers Braden Acosta in the 200 individual medley and 100 freestyle and Elijah Kim in the 50 freestyle and 100 breaststro­ke.

Lodi improved to 3-1 with double-winners Allison Coughlin in the 200 freestyle and 100 freestyle and McKenzie Campbell in the 200 individual and 100 breaststro­ke.
