Talk of gun puts Delta Sierra on lockdown
STOCKTON — Delta Sierra Middle School was placed on lockdown for about an hour Tuesday morning after a parent overheard a student talking about being in possession of a gun.
In a message to parents, Delta Sierra principal Brad Watson said that after administrators were alerted at 10:25 a.m., the Lodi Unified school was placed on lockdown within about 10 minutes.
Officer Joe Silva, spokesman for the Stockton Police Department, said a search was conducted and a student was questioned by officers.
No gun or any weapon was found on campus, and no arrests were made, Silva said.
The lockdown was lifted at 11:19 a.m., and students and staff resumed normal school day activities until minimum day dismissal an hour later.
