Soroptimist International of Lodi held its awards ceremony on March 30 at the Parkview Terrace Club House. Soroptimist International is a global organization that works to improve the lives of women and girls through programs leading to social and economic empowerment.

The Live Your Dream Award provides women who serve as the primary wage earners for their families with the financial resources to offset costs associated with their efforts to attain higher education or additional skills and training. Since the program’s inception in 1972, $30 million has helped tens of thousands of women achieve their dreams of a better life for themselves and their families.

Recipients of the 2017 Live Your Dream Awards of $1,000 each were Christina Gilpin and Veronica Flores.

Dr. Liz Kass presented the award to Christina Gilpin.
